The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) here assured the peace and order situation during the holidays despite some of its personnel going on break starting this week.

Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, NOCPPO’s deputy public information officer, said police officers were given a six-day holiday break, but they will still be on call in case there’s a need for deployment.

“Hindi ibig sabihin na pag nag break, detached na from work, on call pa din para kung sakaling kailangan bumalik agad sa trabaho, laging handa,” Donasco said.

Donasco said personnel who were allowed to go home should still visit the nearest police station in their respective areas so that they will still be visible.

Donasco said that police officers who were granted Christmas break shall return to work after six days so that other officers will be given a chance to have their New Year’s break.

She noted that despite the cop’s holiday break, NOCPPO personnel are on full alert for the Yuletide season, and the founding anniversary of the New People’s Army (NPA) on Dec 26, 2020.

Most of the policemen were already deployed in streets and other areas of convergence. She also said that about 30 personnel were also added to the NOCPPO force to augment them for the holidays. (Glazyl Masculino via The Daily Guardian (TDG), photo courtesy of TDG)
