Cebu City – Gitinguha ni kanhi Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña nga ang kasamtangan nga Mactan Cebu International Airport paga nganlan kini ug Raul Del Mar, ang kongresista sa Cebu City North District kinsa bag-o lang mitaliwan.
Si Del Mar maoy author sa Republic Act 6958 sa Congress, nga maoy naghimo’g dan sa katukuran sa Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA).
“He is responsible of the creation of the Mactan airport authority some 20 years ago. All other airports are under the national government except Mactan under the special law. Without that, we will not have that airport as what we have today,” pamahayag ni Osmena.
Samtang sa iyang bahin, dihang buhi pa si Del Mar, miduso kini ug bill nga mag usab sa pangan sa Mactan Airport ngadto sa Lapu-Lapu Cebu International Airport ug ang MCIAA mahimong Lapu-Lapu Cebu International Airport Authority.
Ang maong balaudnon na pending kini sa Committee on Transportation sukad pa sa miaging tuig.
Namatay si Del Mar sa Manila niadtong Nobyembre 16, 2020, sa edad nga 79.
Gidala ang iyang abo sa iyang panimalay sa Sugbo niadtong Disyembre 2.
Nagsilbi si Del Mar nga kongresista sa North District sa Cebu City ubos sa Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan ni Osmeña.
