Anti-narcotics agents of the Cordillera destroyed and seized nearly ₱ 16 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants and bricks in a separate operation.
This three-day successful anti-illegal drug operation on September 18-20, 2020 resulted to the discovery of three plantation sites at Brgy. Bugnay, Tinglayan, Kalinga.
Combined effort of PDEA-Kalinga Provincial Office, PDEA-R02, KPPO, Kalinga PIU/DEU KPO, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, RID/RDEU PROCOR, 1503rd RMFB 15, RIU 14, and 1st & 2nd KPFMC resulted to the destruction of 69,800 fully grown marijuana plants.
In Smoki, Bontoc Mountain Province anti-narcotics agents discovered 17 pieces of marijuana bricks worth ₱ 2, 040, 000. 00 on September 20, 2020.
Anti-narcotics agents waited for more than hours anticipating the arrival of somebody who would pick up the box of illegal drugs at a waiting shed along Samoki road but no one appeared thus they decided to open the box and found the 17 pcs of marijuana bricks.
Operatives are now investigating on the possibility that this is a new modus of dropping and shipping of marijuana bricks during this Pandemic when travel and mobilization is restricted.
