FLOODED WITH LOVE: RELIEF PACKS FOR #VICKYPH SURVIVORS OF BAROBO

With the pandemic still very much upon us, we were looking forward to the year 2020 ending. And then Tropical Depression Vicky hit Caraga Region causing floods across the region. Barobo, Surigao del Sur was one of the hardest hit municipalities with 746 families currently displaced by the floods.

But our faith and fortitude remained steadfast. We activated Oplan Kaagpay with JCI Surigao Nickel, with the goal of collecting only a hundred pesos per person from anyone who has anything to spare. We know how the pandemic has affected so many people so we weren’t expecting anything big. We were just hopeful that we will have a few to give to some of the families. But apparently God had other plans. Through the donations coming from generous donors we were able to prepare 810 relief packs with food, water, mosquito nets and blankets inside. This will soon be distributed to Barobo on December 27.

This is just the beginning of what we are committed to accomplish in 2021. We are excited to be MORE FOR OTHERS as we strive to BE BETTER year after year. We thank our brothers and sisters in JJC – St. Paul University Surigao for helping us pack.
