Iriga: Relief Operations Continue for Families Affected by Severe Tropical Storm “Enteng”

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 5 in the Bicol Region is intensifying its relief efforts for families affected by Severe Tropical Storm “Enteng.” On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, the DSWD provided an additional 5,853 Family Food Packs (FFPs) to communities in Camaligan, Canaman, and Naga City in Camarines Sur.

DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos, along with Camarines Sur Governor Luigi Villafuerte and DSWD Bicol Regional Director Norman Laurio, personally distributed the relief packs to the affected areas, joined by its Local Chief Executives – Hon. Diano Ibardaloza, Hon. Nelson Legaspi and Hon. Nelson Legacion respectively.

In addition to the distribution of FFPs, DSWD Bicol continued to support stranded passengers at Pasacao Port, Camarines Sur. The agency provided hot meals for breakfast and lunch, prepared from FFPs, to the nine remaining stranded families.
