LEGAZPI CITY, ALBAY | As the Response Cluster in the Bicol Region convened today for a weather update from PAGASA Southern Luzon, RDRRMC Chair Director Claudio L. Yucot emphasized that there should be no complacency and that preparations should be made for the possible effects of tropical cyclone Basyang.
The latest PAGASA bulletin and forecast of PAGASA indicate that while Bicol Region might be spared from TC Basyang’s direct path, it will still experience moderate to heavy rains this weekend. Moderate to rough seas will also be dangerous to small fishing vessels.
The RDRRMC Emergency Operations Center remains on Red Alert Status due to Mayon Volcano’s activity. The EOC will now add TC Basyang to its heightened monitoring.
