The Our Lady of Snows Church Filipino-American Community, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur and coordination with the 9th Infantry Division and 546th Engineer Construction Battalion, conducted a medical mission on February 19-20, 2024, at the Convention Center, Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili.
“It feels fantastic [to be able to give back to our community]. It’s very euphoric and it’s something I want everyone to experience because you’re giving yourself whatever God gave you. You give it back to everybody else around you and it’s such a blessing and it’s something I think everyone should do,” shared Daniel Mahinay, president of the OLS Fil-Am Community.
The two-day medical mission conducted by the New York-based Fil-Am Community benefitted hundreds of parishioners and residents of Brgy. Palestina, Cadlan, Caroyroyan, and Tinangis.
Among the medical services offered were free medical consultation, optical services including vision exam and free eyeglasses, and dental services including tooth checkup and extraction. With the utilization of the Mobile Diagnostic Van, Laboratory Diagnostic Bus, and the Hospital-on-Wheels of the Provincial Government, beneficiaries were also able to avail of the free laboratory tests including ultrasound, X-ray, urinalysis, ECG, and blood chemistry test. Free medicines and vitamins were also given to the beneficiaries.
