The Philippine Statistics Authority’s (PSA) 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) starts today. July 15, 2024, and will run until September 2024. The census aims to gather comprehensive data to aid in policy-making, resource allocation, and socio-economic planning at both local and national levels. Mayor Rex Oliva has always put a premium and given importance to community participation in ensuring efficient and accurate data gathering.
The POPCEN-CBMS initiative is expected to provide a detailed demographic and socio-economic profile of Iriga, facilitating targeted interventions and development programs. The Local Government of Iriga has launched various awareness-raising campaigns to encourage public participation and cooperation. These efforts underscore the city’s commitment to leveraging accurate statistical data to improve public services, infrastructure, and overall quality of life for its residents.
