Iriga: Mayon evacuees in Camalig receive first tranche of TUPAD salary

    Mayon evacuees in Camalig, Albay recently received the first tranche of their Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers program (TUPAD) salary, amounting to Php3,650.00 for the first 10 days of their 30-day work period inside evacuation center.

    A total of 641 beneficiaries from the affected barangays of Sua, Quirangay, Tumpa, and Anoling were aided by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)’s TUPAD program in partnership with Ako Bicol (AKB) Partylist , which intends to offer the evacuees emergency employment following their displacement.

    “Yading tabang san gobyerno gamiton sa pag-preparar sa pagbabalik san klase”, Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr. said, encouraging the evacuees to utilize the cash for a worthwhile cause.

    DOLE Albay Provincial Director Ching Banania highlighted that TUPAD is beneficial for both its beneficiaries and the community to which they belong, as they ensure a healthy and cleaner space in their temporary shelters.

    Additionally, AKB Partylist Executive Director, Atty. Alfredo Garbin, Jr., checked the welfare of the evacuees and likewise vowed to support the local government’s aim to cater their needs, whether through in-kind or monetary donations.

    Each beneficiary will receive a total of Php10, 950 upon completion of the 30-day work program.
