Legazpi City – Health workers participated in a One Health surveillance workshop aimed at addressing rabies cases in Albay.
The workshop sought to enhance the collaboration of local health officers, veterinarians, and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers (DRRMO) in managing rabies cases, alongside other sectors.
The first batch of workshops, which included Local Government Units (LGUs) from the first district, concluded yesterday. The second batch, involving LGUs from the third district, will begin today.
This initiative was led by the Albay Veterinary Office (AVO), the Surveillance Integrating Phylogenetics and Epidemiology for the Elimination of Disease: Evaluation of Rabies Control in the Philippines (SPEEDIER), the Albay Provincial Health Office (PHO), the Department of Health (DOH), and the Field Epidemiology Training Program Alumni Foundation Inc.
