The Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) held its 3rd quarterly meeting on August 29, 2024, at the former Department of Agriculture (DA) office.
The session focused on strengthening gender-responsive programs and reviewing the GAD plan and budget for 2025. The meeting was presided over by Konsi Dandreb Abonite and, subsequently, Konsi Nikki Lagrimas. Also present were Konsi Jeff Tino together with the GFPS attendees, including Executive Committee members, GAD focal persons, and TWG.
During the meeting, the discussion focused on the GAD Plan and Budget for CY 2025, particularly on resource allocation, fund monitoring, and the GAD Fund’s utilization. In connection with this, GAD-related accomplishments were also presented by the concerned offices. Updates on the amended GAD Code were also given, and assured priority of the members of the SP, especially the Committee Chairperson on Women, Konsi Nikki.
In the afternoon, an online orientation was conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), together with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), on the GFPS Functionality Assessment tool, which assesses the effectiveness of gender equality initiatives within the organization.
Representatives from various offices also presented their GAD-related accomplishment reports, highlighting their progress in integrating gender perspectives into their programs. The meeting concluded with an open discussion, paving the way for ongoing collaboration and improvements in gender and development efforts.
