The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office V – Bicol Region was formally recognized for its vital contributions as a member agency of the Bicol Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC). The distinction was conferred during the “Kahandaan at Kaligtasan: Local DRRM and Stakeholders Recognition” ceremony held in Legazpi City, spearheaded by the RDRRMC V and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Bicol.
The event also served as a venue to honor various Local Government Units (LGUs) and their respective Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils/Offices (LDRRMCOs). These entities were awarded for their unwavering dedication and exemplary performance as first responders during recent calamities.
This commendation highlights the strong leadership of Regional Director Norman S. Laurio, acting upon the strategic guidance of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian. It stands as a symbol of the agency’s continuing commitment to upholding President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision for proactive, resilient communities and safe Filipino families.
