Iriga: DENR Bicol, Bicol University, Forbes Academy conclude Transformative Internship Journey

Forty (40) student interns from various colleges of Bicol University, namely: College of Business, Economics, and Management (BUCBEM), Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance and Development (BUJMRIGD), College of Science (BUCS) and Forbes Academy’s Senior High School (SHS) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Department recently concluded their internship program on May 10, 2024, at the DENR Regional Office 5 Lobby, Rawis, Legazpi City.

Faculty members from the Bicol University and Forbes Academy witnessed the Closing Rites together with Regional Executive Director (RED), Francisco E. Milla, Jr., CESO III, Assistant Regional Director for Management Services (ARD-MS), Ronnel B. Astor, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services (ARD-TS), Atty. Ronnel C. Sopsop, and Assistant Regional Director for Special Concerns (ARD-SC), Adona P. San Diego.

In his message, RED Milla expressed gratitude to all interns for their hard work and dedication throughout the program. “I want to thank all of you for the hard work and effort you have put into your tasks. While you learn from us during your internship, we also learn from you,” he said. “Like the captain of a ship, you are the one who is in control of your life, making decisions, and navigating through challenges. This implies autonomy, responsibility, and leadership,” he added.

RED Milla also emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving success. “Together, we have formed a strong and cohesive team, each contributing our unique skills and perspectives to achieve a common goal,” he said.

The DENR Bicol acknowledges the invaluable contribution and dedication of the interns from BU and Forbes Academy SHS Department as they conclude their internship program. As they embark on the next chapter of their academic and professional journey, the DENR Bicol extends its appreciation to the interns for their passion and invaluable support in advancing the Department’s shared mission of protecting and preserving Bicol’s natural resources for the future generations.
