The City Government of Iriga City, through the Arriba Administration under the leadership of Mayor Wilfredo Rex C. Oliva and Vice Mayor Edsel S. Dimaiwat, successfully extended the PhilHealth Konsulta Package benefits to the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Iriga City District Jail.

This initiative, aimed at improving healthcare access to marginalized sectors, was spearheaded by the City Health Office, led by Dr. Ronald G. Pereña, in collaboration with the PhilHealth Claims Processing Section. Key services provided included Konsulta Package (KP) registration, health risk screening and assessment, and medical consultation.

To further enhance the health services, random blood sugar testing, and counseling were made available, particularly for those identified as high-risk individuals. This initiative aimed to address preventable health issues and promote the well-being of the PDL community.

The program served a total of 200 PDL and was made possible with the assistance of Acting District Jail Warden JCInsp. Freddie T. Caballero II. His leadership contributed to the overall success of the event, which marks another significant step in the administration’s ongoing efforts to provide inclusive healthcare.

The project underscores the city’s commitment to ensuring that even the most vulnerable sectors of society receive essential health services, in line with the national government’s health initiatives.
