Some sixty-one (61) residents of Tabaco City, Albay received their land titles during the “Handog Titulo sa Masang Tabaqueño,” in celebration of the 23rd Founding Anniversary of Tabaco City on March 24, 2024 at the Tabaco City Terrace, Tabaco City, Albay.
Albay Governor Atty. Edcel Greco A.B. Lagman represented by Vice Governor Glenda Ong – Bongao, Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tabaco City key officials headed by Mayor Cielo Krisel Lagman-Luistro together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bicol headed by Regional Executive Director (RED) Francisco E. Milla, Jr. led the program and distribution of the land titles.
In her message, LGU Tabaco City Mayor Luistro expressed her gratitude to the DENR Bicol for the continuous support and cooperation in the city’s development programs. She emphasized the significance of land ownership as a tool for empowerment and stability within the community. Mayor Luistro highlighted the government’s commitment to providing accessible services to its constituents, including the facilitation of land title acquisition.
The “Handog Titulo Program” aims to improve land ownership in Tabaco City, Albay through the combined efforts of various agencies and local officials to achieve land tenure security and community development.
Additionally, the DENR Bicol headed by RED Milla emphasized that the distributed land titles does not merely confer ownership rights but also give recipients a sense of pride and empowerment. He stressed that, “With these land titles in your possession, you will not only attain security and stability but also a means to forge a brighter future for themselves and their families. These titles are more than just legal documents; they symbolize hope and opportunity,” RED Milla said.
The 7,731 square meters of land distributed marks a significant milestone that not only underscores the significance of land tenure security but also fosters community development and empowers the residents of Tabaco City, Albay.
