The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Wednesday said the government’s safety seal certification program would help further reopen the economy while ensuring business establishments remain compliant with minimum health standards.

“With the safety seal certification program in place, we are assuring the public, especially our workers, that they are safe and protected outside their homes, even if we allow our economy to fully reopen,” Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III said.

He urged establishments to avail of the voluntary certification.

To avail they should be fully compliant with minimum health protocols, practice social distancing, require the use of a contact-tracing application, particularly the StaySafe.PH application, the official contact tracing app of the government and ensure other protocols.

DOLE was tasked by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to issue the certification for the following industries: manufacturing, construction, utilities, information and communication, and warehousing industries.

Establishments from these industries, may visit https://bwc.dole.gov.ph/safetyseal to get more information about the safety seal.

The certification for other industries are managed by the  Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Tourism, Department of Interior and Local Governance, Philippine National Police, and the different local government units.

The certification will be valid for six months from the date of its issuance—except for tourism establishments, for which certifications would be valid for a year, renewable a month before expiration.
