Former Rebels, CAFGU’s and Soldiers get married in Surigao Del Norte

Gigaquit, Surigao Del Norte – 30th Infantry “Fight On” Battalion led the wedding ceremony of Ten couples conducted at its Headquarters located at Barangay Mahanub, Gigaquit, Surigao Del Norte last December 06, Tuesday, same year.

The Ten (10) couples consisted of six (6) Enlisted Personnel, two (2) CAFGU Active Auxiliary and two (2) former members of the Armed Propaganda Unit 16B, (SYP-16B) Guerilla Front 16, North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee at New People’s Army (NPA).

The ceremony was headed by HON. Chadru T. Bonite the current Mayor of Gigaquit City. Also present of BGen. Goerge L. Banzon, the Brigade Commander of the 901st Brigade. While with MS. Catalina Tacubao, the Provincial Director of TESDA in Surigao, and the Mayor of Surigao City HON. Pablo Yves Dumlao represented by Atty. Jeffrey Galido the City Administrator. Joining together as mother and father in this celebration.

According to Edilberto Maisog @MARMAR, one of the former rebels who returned to the law and one of the newly wed, “We thank the initiative of 30IB for working hard and helping us to get our freedom back to the ground.” We’re gonna be a legal couple. “As I begin this new chapter of my life as a married man I will strive to ensure that our future children do not have to suffer the suffering I went through for tricking and using Communist Terrorists against me.”
