At least 1,200 marginalized workers from the first district here recieved on Monday, July 20, their cash assistance and food packs from the Office of the First District at The People’s Park.
Office of the First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) distributed cash assistance and food packs to workers affected of the crisis brought about by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The workers were among the thousand beneficiaries who recieved cash aid from the government’s assistance program Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvsntage/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) to mitigate the impact of the national health emergency due to coronavirus.
Rep. Duterte’s office said that these workers were residents of the 54 barangays under the first district. They were earlier assigned by their respective barangay councilors to disinfect their respective houses and their surroundings to maintain cleanliness in the barangay and avoid getting infected of the disease.
The registered beneficiaries recieved P3,900 cash assistance based on the prevailing highest minimum wage in Davao Region as per DOLE.
