A total of 4,393 additional Covid-19 cases were logged by the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2,765,672.

“The relatively low cases today (October 26) is due to lower laboratory output last Sunday, October 24,” the DOH said.

There were also 8,470 recoveries and 135 deaths.

Of the total number of infections, 1.9 percent (53,642) are active cases, 96.5 percent (2,669,953) have recovered, and 1.52 percent (42,077) have died.

Twenty-eight duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 22 are recoveries.

Moreover, 97 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

All laboratories were operational on October 24, 2021 but 5 labs were not able to submit their data to the CAovid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on data in the last 14 days, the 5 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 0.2 percent of samples tested and 0.3 percent of positive individuals.
