Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” leads the 4th Quarter Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti – Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) with majority of the council. members in attendance on December 4, 2024 at the Plenary Hall, Zamboanga del Norte Convention and Exhibition Center, Dipolog City.
Governor Jalosjos, as the Chairman of the PPOC and PADAC spearheads the meeting with emphasis on recognizing hthe collective effort of both councils for FY 2024. She underscored the exemplary work of the PPOC especially in the recent recognition ceremony of the DILG-Region 9 in the Layag Awards for its most outstanding and functional council. She delivered her message of gratitude to all the council members during the Chairperson’s hour.
Composed of various National Government Agencies, Civil Society Organizations, as well as heads of departments of the Provincial Government, the council meeting was presided over by the Acting Provincial Administrator, Mr. Levy H. Lagutin. Key discussions points were accomplishments, issues, interventions, and ways ahead on the areas of illegal drugs, criminality, internal peace and order situation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte.
The PPOC and PADAC also discussed the plans for FY 2025 to include strengthening partnership and increase collaborations in the interventions that the council. members can work on significantly addressing issues on security threats, carrying-out programs, activities and plans (PAPs) and intensifying monitoring and evaluation of PAPs that would address the pressing issues on security in the entire province.
