Secretary Benjamin P. Abalos has arrived in Zamboanga on May 6, 2023 to continue his work with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). On his agenda is the launch of the Rollout cum Serbisyo Caravan with Kasimbayanan and the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan or BIDA Program.
The launch was held in the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) gymnasium where partner agencies and local government officials were also in attendance.
Likewise, Mayor Dalipe delivered welcome remarks and a message of support for the aforementioned program.
The Serbisyo Caravan aims to bring the basic services offered by different government agencies including the Philippine National Police (PNP) and local government unit (LGU) closer to constituents, especially to communities in far-flung areas. On the other hand, the BIDA Program is a multi-sectoral campaign against illegal drugs which combats the problem by focusing on demand reduction.
