DEFENDING champion Davao Occidental-Cocolife vented its ire on Sta. Rosa Laguna via an 82-68 rout on Wednesday night in the Manila Bankers Life-Pilipinas Super League Pro Division Second Conference Dumper Cup at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Former Philippine Basketball Association player Larry Rodriguez had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds on top of four assists for the Tigers, while Gab Dagangon made 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Veterans John Wilson and Keith Agovida also had 12 points each as Davao Occidental redeemed itself from a stunning 85-89 loss to Cagayan De Oro-PSP last week and rose to 8-1 won-lost for second place.

The Lions saw their four-game winning run halted and dropped to a 6-2 card.

San Juan held off Cagayan De Oro 90-83 for its seventh straight win in the other game.
AC Soberano knocked down four three-pointers to finish with 16 points for the Kings, while Ron Dennison added 12 points and four rebounds.

Romel Calahat, Nikko Panganiban and Jaymo Eguilos had 11, 11, and 10 points, respectively for San Juan, which scored a fitting follow up to its 73-70 triumph over Nueva Ecija last Saturday to remain unbeaten in seven matches.

Cagayan De Oro slipped to 2-8.

Marvin Lee was the lone bright spot for Sta. Rosa with 20 points.

Jeff Comia paced Cagayan De Oro with 23 points, while Omar Larupay and Jopet Soriano got 12 points apiece.
