COVID Cases Update: Negros Breaches 4K Mark, Bacolod Cases Continue To Go Down

Negros Occidental has breached the 4,000-case mark in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) whilst infections cases in Bacolod City are decreasing.

Data from the capitol Public Information Office of the provincial government indicated that the province has 4,099 confirmed cases as of Wednesday.

The tally includes 1,139 are active cases, 2,862 recoveries, and 98 deaths.

The data also showed that the province has 2,789 domestic cases, 712 Locally Stranded Individuals, 230 Returning Overseas Filipinos, 195 frontliners, 25 for classification, and 4 Negrenses in other provinces.

Bacolod City recorded the lowest number of confirmed cases on Tuesday with 4, data from the Bacolod Public Information Office showed.

On Wednesday, the Bacolod PIO reported 13 confirmed cases.

Bacolod has 4,646 total cases so far, including 507 active cases, or 10.91 percent of the total confirmed cases, while recoveries are 4,021 or 88.55 percent of the total cases.

Total mortality is 118 or 2.54 percent of the tally.

Earlier, Inter-Agency Task Force chief implementer for the Visayas, retired General Melquiades Feliciano said that the city of Bacolod is ready for the “New Normal” by end-October.

He noted that the COVID-19 cases in the city continue to go down, from an average daily case of 50 in the last two weeks of September to 25 in the first and second weeks of October.
