The president of Surigao del Norte Medical Society Dr. Manolito C. Go reported this afternoon’s emergency meeting of the Provincial Inter Agency Task Force called by Governor Francisco Matugas that private hospitals’ Covid beds in Surigao City are full. Even the non-Covid wards are occupied also by patients for non corona virus cases.
Dr. Go noticed the laxity of the people especially at the City boulevard that many are wearing improperly their face masks and no more face shields.
Governor Francisco Matugas asked the PNP to apprehend those violators of minimum health protocols.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arlene Felizarta said as of yesterday the province registered the highest number of active cases reaching 145 compared to last October 2020 and April 2021.
Surigao City recorded 61 active cases as of May 12 from 44 the other day, Siargao has 14 or an increase of 6 cases since May 11 with 8 active cases only while in the mainland now has 70 active cases compared to 42 last May 11. (RPN DXKS Surigao)
