The city council approved a resolution recommending to Interagency Task Force on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) to use Automated Teller Machines or ATM to release assistance to beneficiaries Tuesday during its regular session.
Councilor, Benjamin B. Guingona IV, sponsored the said resolution. The resolution was approved with one abstention.
Guingona said the reason he passed the said resolution was because of the increasing Covid-19 cases in the city and the city cannot anymore afford another lockdown.
During distribution of assistance it results to mass gathering which makes Covid 19 easier to spread.
The councilor said the use of card for distribution of assistance will be efficient, convenient, and safer.
According to Guingona this will be used not only for Covid 19 but also in giving other forms of assistance.
“Debe estudya ya coneste cay the more we gather the higher the risk man spread el virus,” Guingona said.
