Niadtong nakalabay nga gabii, ang mga operatiba sa Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 7 nakadakop sa usa ka 25-anyos nga lalaki, nga nailhan usab nga “Jojo,” pinaagi sa legal nga warrant of arrest, sa siyudad sa Lapu-Lapu.
Si “Jojo” gipasakaan sa paglapas sa Article 315 (Swindling/Estafa) sa Revised Penal Code kauban ang Section 6 sa RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), ug ang iyang piyansa gitakda sa ₱72,000.00.
Gidayag ni PBGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Acting Director sa PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, ang team tungod sa malampusong operasyon.
“This arrest shows our continued commitment to holding online scammers accountable. We will not allow those who exploit digital platforms to prey on the public. We urge everyone to exercise caution online and report suspicious activities to the authorities.”
