Baguio City – PhP 74,800.00 worth of methamphetamine substance, more popularly known as shabu was seized and a 45 year old woman peddling/selling illegal drugs was arrested yesterday, Sunday, November 24, in North Sanitary Camp Barangay, Baguio City in a joint buy bust operation conducted by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency—Cordillera Region (PDEA-CAR), Ifugao Provincial Police Office (Ifugao PPO) and Baguio/Benguet Provincial Police Office (Benguet PPO), along with members of the Baguio City Police Station 2 and officials of Barangay North Sanitary Camp, Baguio City.
The seized illegal drugs weighed around 11 grams, worth approximately PhP74,800.00 while, the suspect, a 45-year-old woman from Barangay Magsaysay, Baguio City was apprehended for selling a small packet containing approximately 5 grams of a substance believed to be shabu. Moreover, the authorities also discovered ten additional packets of suspected shabu in her possession.
The arrested woman is being held at the PDEA Regional office while they prepare to file charges against her for violation of, Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” is being prepared. (Baby Tong)
