Bacolod still Alert Level 1, NegOcc AL2

Bacolod City – Highly-urbanized Bacolod City will remain under the most lenient Alert Level 1 classification while Negros Occidental is still alert Level 2 for the period covering June 1 to 15, Malacañang said in a statement issued yesterday.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) also retained the Alert Level 1 status in Aklan, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo City in Western Visayas, while Negros Oriental is still under Alert Level 2.

Seven Negros Occidental local government units composed of cities of Sagay, La Carlota and Victorias, as well as municipalities of EB Magalona, Candoni, San Enrique and Pulupandan, also remained under Alert Level 1 until June 15 under IATF-EID resolution 167-A.

The Provincial Incident Management Team reported three more COVID-19 active cases over the weekend, bringing to 33 the number of cases in Negros Occidental, compared to 13 on May 24, and single digits the previous week.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang said that he sees no increases in COVID-19 cases in the absence of local transmission in daily cases. (Gilbert bayoran via tvds photo by tvds)
