Bacolod City – The Philippine National Police is looking at Spur 14 in Brgy. Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto in Negros Occidental, as the site of its Regional Training and Logistics Center, Mayor Laurence Marxlen dela Cruz disclosed recently.
Dela Cruz said that the 1.6 kilometer road leading to the proposed site has already been concreted.
The funds came from a portion of the loans they secured from the Development Bank of the Philippines, Department of Public Works and Highways, Rep. Gerardo Valmayor, with contributions from the local government and NTF-ELCAC (National Task Force – Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict).
Dela Cruz and former PNP chief Dionardo Carlos met on Saturday, during the opening of the week-long 41st founding anniversary of Don Salvador Benedicto and 31st Kali Kalihan Festival, and discussed the proposed establishment of the PNP training and logistics center in Brgy. Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto.
The mayor said that retired PNP chief Dionardo Carlos, accompanied by PMaj. Gen. Robert Rodriguez, Area Police Command – Visayas chief, is set to visit the proposed site of PN Regional Training and Logistic Center on February 9.
The area is now ready, dela Cruz said, as he hopes that PNP is now looking for funds for it.
