Bacolod: NegOcc voters top 5 for BSKE 2023

Provincial Commission on Elections Supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria recently said that Negros Occidental is among the top five vote-rich provinces in the country during the synchronized barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on October 30 this year.

As of June 19, Comelec records show that Negros Occidental has a total of 2, 675, 412 voters, although the data is not yet final, as data from three local government units are still being finalized.

Of the 2.6 million voters for Negros Occidental, a total of 660,686 are Sangguniang Kabataan voters, and 2,014,726 are regular voters.

Bacolod City has the most number of regular voters with 340,098 and 100,442 SK voters, in 2,220 established precincts and 908 clustered precincts in 61 barangays.

Kabankalan City topped the component cities with regular and SK voters pegged at 143, 511; followed by Bago City- 136, 903; Cadiz City – 128, 734; Silay City – 119, 014 and San Carlos City – 118,758, making them among the top five LGUs with the most number of voters outside Bacolod City.

The BSKE 2023 election period starts August 30.
