Bacolod dengue cases up 92 percent

Bacolod City – The Bacolod City Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (BCESU) has recorded 15 suspected cases of leptospirosis in Bacolod City, with two deaths.

The victims were a 69-year-old male who died on January 3 and a 28-year-old male who died on February 18.

The barangays with recorded cases of leptospirosis are Taculing and Banago.

Meanwhile, the number of cases of dengue in Bacolod City from January 28 to February 18 is 91.9 percent higher compared to the number of cases last year, covering the same period.

The BCESU recorded 71 dengue cases with one death from Barangay Villamonte.

The number of cases last year was 37, with one death.

Barangay Mansilingan recorded seven cases, Estefania – six; Vista Alegre, Cabug, Granada and Mandalagan – five each; Pahanocoy, Alijis and Tangub – four each; Taculing and Villamonte – three each; and Singcang, Brgy 40, Bata, and Sum-ag – two each.
