Bacolod City – The Commission on Elections Regional Office VI has approved the request of the Comelec Bacolod Field Office to transfer the venue for the filling of certificates of candidacy (COC) for the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), scheduled on October 30.
Bacolod Election Officer Kathrina Trino-Caña said they have requested for the COC filing to be transferred to Robinson’s Place-Bacolod due to ongoing construction work at the Bacolod Arts and Youth Sports Center (BAYS Center) area.
They are anticipating a huge number of candidates to file their COCs for the BSKE, from the 61 barangays of Bacolod City, so they decided to look for a bigger area to be able to accommodate everyone, she said.
Pursuant to Comelec Resolution No. 10902, the 90-day election period for the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election will commence on August 29, with the filing of COCs.
