Bacolod: 22 gun ban violators nabbed in province

Bacolod City – A total of 22 persons in Negros Occidental, including highly urbanized Bacolod City, have been arrested for violation of the Comelec gun ban a month after election period started on August 28, according to a report of the Police Regional Office 6.

All over Western Visayas, 56 violators have been accounted for, yielding 47 assorted firearms and 24 deadly weapons.

The arrested violators included 52 civilians, two security guards, and two others are members of other Law Enforcement Agencies (OLEAs).

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office has the most number of arrests with 17, followed by Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 12, Capiz PPO has arrested seven violators, Iloilo City Police Office – 6, Bacolod City Police Office -5, Aklan PPO – 2, and one each for the Regional Mobile Force Battalion and Guimaras PPO.
