FIVE players remained in the hunt for this year’s Hanes 1-on-1 King of the Hardcourt—La Salle’s EJ Abadam, College of St. Benilde’s Michael Mara, Mapua’s Kem Sabsalon, Emilio Aguinaldo College’s Ruzzel Dominguez and Jose Rizal University’s Tyrel Lu.

Games continue Friday with each player facing off in a round robin format with the top two players moving on to the finals.

“We have been delighted with how the players have held themselves and outwitted their opponents to earn the right to be called the King of the Hardcourt,” tournament director Bennett Palad said.

From 20, the list was whittled down to just five as they aspire to follow the footsteps of Prince Carlos of St. Benilde, King Caralipio of Letran and Niel Tolentino of Arellano who previously won this tourney.

The Hanes 1-on-1 King of the Hardcourt is part of the 2023 Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup.
