Please be informed that at about 3:35PM of August 27, 2021 joint personnel of Surigao Del Norte maritime police Station led by PLT ROBERT M SORILLA (led unit)together with personnel from Surigao City Police Station led by PLT BASSELMONTEROSO conducted Anti-Illegal Fishing Operation on board rented Motor Banca at the vicinity seawaters of Brgy. Ipil, Surigao City at Grid Coordinate of Longitude125.43126ËšE Latitude 9.797628ËšN, more or less one hundred (100) meters away from the shoreline the said locality. In response to the report from undocumented agent tha tan Illegal fishing activity by the use of Ring Net locally known as Mini Likum/Sari has just transpired thereat, resulting to the arrest of six (6) persons for violating Sections 86(b) (Unauthorized Fishing) and 95 (Use of Active Gear in Municipal Waters, Bays and other Fishery Management Areas) of Republic Act 10654.
Confiscated pieces of evidence:
- One (1) motorized banca color green marked ‘NASHDINE’ NM-SUR-092120-000036 powered by twin 13HP Honda engines with Serial No./s of GCBDT 1720486 & GCBDT 1720501 and Gross Tonnage of 1.39-with estimated value of php 120,000.00
- More or less One Hundred Seventy (170) meters fishing net by floating buoy attached-php 130,000.00
- Thirty (30) pcs stainless ring with 1 1/2 inches in diameter-php 3,000.00
- More or less One Hundred Ninety (190) meters nylon rope-php 4,000.00
- More or Less Two Hundred (200) meters nylon rope-php 1,800
- MOL two (2) kilos illegally caught fish-php 300.00
TOTAL: php 257,300.00
Apprehended persons and recovered pieces of evidences were brought to SDN MARPSTA for documentation. A case for violating Sections 86 and 95 of RA 10654 is being readied for filing before the Surigao City Prosecutors Office.
