PNP personnel of Ipil Municipal Police Station (MPS) led by PMAJ lee Eric Sale Humpa and Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office – Intel Branch conducted operation against smuggled cigarettes at Sitio Sarok Sarok, Brgy. Bangkerohan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 5:30 PM of November 30, 2020.
The operation resulted in the recovery of abandoned smuggled cigarettes. Recovered items were 137 boxes of assorted brand of cigarettes with estimated amount of ₱ 1,500,000.00.
The inventory of the recovered smuggled cigarettes was witness by Hon. Meliton U. Quizo Sr. Councilor of Brgy. Bangkerohan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Said items were brought to Ipil MPS for documentation prior turn over to Bureau of Customs, Zamboanga City for proper disposition.
PNP personnel of Ipil Municipal Police Station are still conducting deep investigation for the possible identification of the owner of the recovered smuggled cigarettes.
