Zamboanga City To Have 656 Additional Contact Tracers

The city have 656 newly-hired contact tracers to be deployed to Zamboanga City following their orientation and oath-taking ceremony at the City Coliseum on Tetuan, today.

Sheila Covarrubias, city hall information officer told RPN DXXX Zamboanga, these contact tracers were hired by the Department of Interior and Local Government.

These contact tracers will assist the existing three teams of contact tracers of the City Health Office and will help in tracking and managing the close contacts of confirmed Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients.

They are 21 to 45 years old graduate of allied medical course or criminology.

To ensure a COVID secure and safe orientation and turn-over ceremony, the newly hired contact tracers are reminded to strictly follow health protocols.

These contact tracers are needed as the city still have Covid cases: 496 active cases,  1,294 recovered, 92 deaths and 1,882 total cumulative cases.
