Zamboanga City Registers Three Additional Covid Deaths

The Zamboanga City Task Force Covid-19 has announced three additional deaths from Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Thursday afternoon.

This brings the City’s Covid-19 death to 15 since the first Covid-19 case was registered in Zamboanga City last March 24.

The Task Force revealed all three patients expired last July 22.

ZC 451 is the City’s 13th mortality, the patient is 87-year old male from Campo Islam  who expired with the diagnosis of Acute Coronary Syndrome; Respiratory Failure due to Pneumonia. He had a comorbidity: cardiovascular disease (HASCVD); and Diabetes Mellitus Type II.

ZC 253 was the 52-year old female from Pasonanca. With  diagnosis: Acute Coronary Syndrome; Respiratory Failure due to Pneummonia and comorbidity: Diabetes Mellitus Type II. She is the 14th mortality for Zamboanga City.

The 15th mortality for Zamboanga City is ZC 463 who is a 61 years old, female from Tetuan. She expired with diagnosis: Community Acquired Pneumonia- High Risk; Diabetes Mellitus Type II.

The city now has 465 cases of Covid-19. Of this number, 242 are active cases, with 208 recoveries, and 15 deaths.

With the continuous spread of Covid-19 in the workplace and in the community, Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar instructed her department heads to find ways to limit contact when it comes to transaction to protect both the clients and the employees.

Recall, two cases were also registered in City Hall which led to the testing of employees and disinfection of the City’s seat of government.

“Continue to perform your work. This is our sworn duty Zamboanga City needs you to help fight this battle.” Salazar said.

She also remind residents to limit their movements to essential trips and protect themselves when they are out. (R.G. A A. Go)
