Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar has warned business establishments to strictly follow Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) protocols or face closure for disinfection.
“We appeal to businesses they must comply with these Covid 19 protocols or else they will have to close for disinfection,” Salazar said. The mayor made the warning during her virtual press conference Tuesday night.
The mayor explained, they will have to close for disinfection once case of the virus will be reported in their establishments which will cost more.
To make sure Covid 19 protocols are being followed, an enforcement team is in placed which is composed of the city administrators office and the permits and licensing division of the city government.
The city government just wanted to assure the safety of both employers, employees, and customers.
Recall, a big mall was closed in this city for disinfection as their grocery cashier was found positive for Covid 19.
The city now has 640 cases of Covid 19, of these cases 277 are active cases, 343 recovered, and 20 deaths. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
