The city government of Zamboanga will purchase P100 million worth of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine to vaccinate 200,000 individuals.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar said, after the meeting with AstraZeneca together with the League of Cities of the Philippines the city informed them that the city is interested to avail of the needed vaccine.
Their vaccine cost 5$ and 10$ for the needed two doses of Covid-19 vaccines which does not require special refrigeration.
To finalize the deal, the city must sign a tripartite agreement to include the non-disclosure agreement.
Salazar said, the non-disclosure agreement, she needed the support of the city council.
The mayor already coordinated with Department of Health Assistant Secretary Romeo Ong and Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez.
Priority for the vaccine will be the frontliners, senior citizens, PWD, and the poor.
Zamboanga City currently have 3,725 Covid cases, 3,428 recovered, active 124, and 173 deaths. (R.G. A A. Go)
