Mayor Ma. Isabel Climaco-Salazar issued a stern warning against business establishments in Zamboanga City that are violating the standard safety protocols to prevent further spread of coronavirus disease 2019 or Covid-19.
Climaco-Salazar was particularly referring to places of leisure, a beach resort for that matter in the east coast that reportedly accepted party or social gatherings last week.
“I am warning them. I know I will find enemies.. okay lang por amor de covid . As mayor, I have to put my feet down to implement,” the mayor said.
“It is really a grave abuse of people that are not following the protocols of safety and violating and behaving as if there is no covid,” she added.
Climaco-Slaazar said she has to be very clear on the matter. “We cannot keep silent” as she called out all establishments to strictly observe the covid protocols and secure their business permits, otherwise she will be forced to move for their closure.-(Vic Larato/LGU PIO)
