Turtle Island adopt measures to prevent entry of 2019 nCoV

The municipal government of Turtle Island in Tawi-Tawi has set up measures to prevent entry of the deadly novel corona virus in the border between the Philippines and Sabah, Malaysia.

The municipal government is implementing a travel restriction to all its residents to travel to neighboring Sandakan in Sabah.

Mayor Mohammad Faisal Salam Jamalul said he ordered the restrictions of his constituents in going to Sandakan, Sabah to buy groceries and but their basic necessities.

Residents of Turtle Island are doing their groceries and market in Sandakan to buy commodities like cooking oil, instant noodles, potatoes other dietary products.

The travel ban to Sandakan, will totally be “enforced until after nCoV will completely be contained,” to ensure that his constituents are safe and none of his constituents will be infected with the virus.

Turtle Island in Tawi-Tawi is an hour distance by watercraft to Sandakan and is, in fact, the very last island of the Philippines bordering Sabah, Malaysia.
