Police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 7 together with Regional Intelligence Unit 9 and Zamboanga City Police Station 10 conducted law enforcement operation against wanted person at Omar Drive, Arena Blanco, Zamboanga City at about 11:40 AM of August 24, 2020. That resulted in the arrest of Hamid Udoh Butlangan, 50 years old, male, married, seaweeds farmer and a resident of Omar Drive, Arena Blanco, Zamboanga City.
He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for Violation of Sec.5, Article ii of the CDDA of 2020 (RA 9165) under Criminal Case number 42810 and violation of sec.14, article ii of the CDDA 2002(RA 9165), docketed under Criminal Case No. 42813, issued by Hon. Norma Co. Usin-Usman, Presiding Judge, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 24, Zamboanga City dated October 18, 2019 with no recommended bail bond stated in the warrant of arrest.
Said accused was listed Top 7 in the Regional Priority Target Drugs Personalities. Base on the target intelligence pocket (TIP) Regional Intelligence Unit 9, accused serve as spotter of ASG UTG/KFRG in Zamboanga City under late ASG sub leader Alhabsy Misaya and still connected with the ASG operating in Sulu.
Moreover, spotter of the kidnapping activities transpired at Labuan, Zamboanga City last August 19, 2014 wherein the victim was a businessperson identified as Michelle Panes a resident of Barangay Labuan, Zamboanga City.
Arrested accused is now under the temporary custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 7 for proper disposition.
