Tabuk health officials conduct checkpoint screening against nCov

TABUK CITY, Kalinga- The city health office here have started checking passengers of any vehicles specifically provincial buses entering the city last Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2: 30 in the morning to prevent the possible entry of the 2019 novel coronavirus in the city.

Posted In the social media account of Tabuk, City Health Officer Henrietta Lynden Bagayao has created six teams composing of personnel from the City Health Office and City Risk Reduction Management Office to conduct a daily health screening test at Talaca checkpoint.

Apart from the health screening which includes temperature checking, they also do information education campaign to passengers regarding the dreaded disease and likewise distribute leaflets and facemasks to a symptomatic passenger with flu and cough.

With regards to passengers entering from Tuguegarao, Taguiam said that this was already coordinated to the Municipal Health unit (MHU) of Rizal during their provincial health board meeting on Monday, February 3. Passengers coming from Tuao he said will be checked by the MHU- Pinukpuk.

The CHO being at the frontline on the preventive side, Taguiam said that the CHO is preparing for an emergency surveillance in case the city will have any suspected nCov infected.

They will also deploy health nurses to schools to provide IEC to students during their flag raising ceremony.

To cover all possible entry in the province, the Provincial Health Office have directed all municipal and the city health offices in the province specially those located in entry points to conduct regular monitoring to ensure that all who enter the province will be health screened
