Davao City: The 1001st Infantry Brigade vehemently denounces the attack made by a lawless criminal group, who egotistically regard themselves as New People’s Army, when in fact they are the ones who brought chaos and horror to the community.
These criminals know that with the declaration of the ceasefire, the whole-of-government, including our soldiers, are focused in battling the spread of COVID-19, yet they took advantage of that, and stormed an IP community in Sitio Tapayanon, Kapalong.
This lawless group is desperate to get hold of this IP community and does not want any development in the area as government projects have been pouring in that community since its ‘discovery’ in 2019.
Meanwhile, I salute our soldiers on the ground that even with the ceasefire, they have not relaxed in their mandate to secure the ancestral land and the people; and even drove away the criminals.
Again, your 1001st Brigade will continue to secure the communities and will make sure that delivery of basic services will not be stopped by these criminals.
