Stabbing incident occurred on August 21, 2020 at about 8:40 PM at Purok Dos, Brgy. Legarda Dos, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur. The victims were identified as Judifer Pendoyo Banog Banog, 50, married, farmer of Brgy. Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur and Mario Tagaylo Llagas, 54, single, farmer, a resident of abovementioned place.
The suspect was identified as Michael Llagas (cousin of Mario Llagas), 33 years old, male, married, farmer, also of said place. Initial investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident, suspect and the victims were having a drinking session inside May May store owned by Christina Rubia. As the three decided to go home, the suspect first went outside the store carrying with a sharp pointed bolo and followed by the two victims. While on their way, suddenly the suspect appeared from behind and stabbed Judifer hitting his body and Mario hitting at his upper right hand.
Immediately both victims were brought to Chavez Medical Hospital, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur for treatment but Judifer was declared Dead On Arrival by the physician sustaining one stabbed wound at his right upper lumbar penetrating to the lung that caused his death while the other victim Mario sustained slight stabbed wound at his right arm.
Suspect fled to barangay proper of Barangay Legarda Dos. PNP elements of Dinas Municipal Police Station are now conducting pursuit operation for arrest of the suspect.
