Southern Philippines Medical Center Received 13 Airconditioned Tents Form Aboitiz Foundation

Davao City –  The Aboitiz Foundation led by Mr. Danel C. Aboitiz, Senior Vice President for Regulatory Affairs and External Relations, turned over 13 air-conditioned tents at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) – TB DOTS Center, Monday afternoon.

The tents can accommodate 52 persons and shall serve as a holding facility for Covid-19 patients. These aim to address SPMC’s congestion with Covid-19 patients.

Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte’s message read by Dr. Ashley Lopez says, “On behalf of the City Government of Davao, I would like to convey my heartfelt gratitude to the Aboitiz Foundation for your support and benevolence for Dabawenyos, in the form of these tents and air conditioners which will be used in the holding area of the Southern Philippines Medical Center. This will help improve our services to patients who are not yet called to the isolation facilities by providing a secure environment where they can rest comfortably as they wait.”

Mr. Jason Magnaye, Aboitiz Power Corporation (APC) Assistant Vice President for External Relations noted that APC has always been looking for ways to support the efforts of the local and national government.

“We are committed to helping the region and the city moving forward to find ways to really manage the pandemic,” Magnaye said.

Also present during the turnover were SPMC OIC Dr. Ric Audan, DOH-XI Regional Director Anabelle Yumang, and Davao City Assistant City Administrator for Operation, Atty. Janis Louis Esparcia. (City Information Office)
