“My husband Ricky Serenio did not return to illegal drug trade since two years ago when he turned into a whistleblower. He worked and stayed in Pulupandan under then Moises Padilla Mayor Magdaleno Peña.”

“Ricky went into lending business and also sold beauty and food supplements. The list found inside the car he borrowed after he was ambushed (infront of Manville Royale Subdivision in Pahanocoy, Bacolod) last week were names of people who borrowed money from his lending business.”

These were tearfully said by Ricky’s wife, and also by his business partner, in a press conference in Pulupandan yesterday afternoon.

His wife and his partner requested not to be named.

Some 30 of 50 persons who used to borrow money from time to time from the slain Ricky also echoed the two women’s claims, adding that they were borrowers of Ricky, the money they said are for their small ambulant and store businesses, and that they insisted Ricky never returned to drug trading but was into money lending.* (Arman Toga, NDB)
