Victims Abdul Malik Pasculado, 7 and Umar Khattab Pasculado 4, were left alone inside a shanty at Barangay Sicayab, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte when a rifle grenade exploded at around 8 o’clock in the morning of February 20, 2020.
According to their father, Nunamar Pasculado, that he was just meters away from the house when the explosion happened. He rushed inside to check his children after hearing the loud blast, but found his 2 lifeless sons.
Initial investigation was conducted by the authorities and found that the kids were playing with a rifle grenade when the incident happened.
Victims’ father Nunamar was then brought to Dipolog City Police Station for further interrogation wherein he denies the possession of the explosive that caused the loss of his sons.
The family is now preparing for the victims’ burial according to the Muslim tradition, while the father is still held for questioning by the authorities.
