Police Regional Office IX (PRO IX) held the fourth batch of Basic Logistics Course (BLC) for calendar year 2020 which opened last August 29, 2020 at Camp BGen Eduardo A Batalla, JRT Lim Boulevard, Cawa-Cawa, Zamboanga City wherein 52 personnel from different units of this PRO will undergo the said course for 24 days. The said activity was graced by the current Acting Director for Logistics, P/B. Gen. Angelito A. Casimiro.
During the opening ceremony, P/ B. Gen Casimiro highlighted the ongoing project of the PNP dubbed as PNP One Network and the PNP Email System as part of PNP’s efforts to adapt to the new normal through the full use of information and communications technology. He pointed out that the “PNP One Network” serves as a “single backbone” that connects all PNP offices from the National Headquarters down to the Municipal Police Stations. On the other hand, the PNP Email System serves as a secured and reliable digital communications platform for all official correspondence of PNP units and individual PNP personnel.
Meanwhile, on the same date, PRO9 held its capability demonstration on Crime Prevention Patrol Boat (CPPB) at JRT Lim Boulevard, Cawa-Cawa, Zamboanga City, wherein it showcased the PRO9’s Task Force Pink Panthers operational capability in conducting crime prevention activities along the coastal areas of Zamboanga Peninsula which are oftentimes utilized as entry and exit points of illegal drugs, gun smuggling, kidnapping, illegal fishing, extortion and other related crimes.
